Looking for a chip for my E34 540i/6

I have a 540i/6 and the production date is 9/95 and I can't find any chips where I don't have to send my dme in like dudmd. It's my daily so I was seeing if anyone knew of any I can just buy and put in myself? Also I assume it's 484 and not 404 since it's a later model but I would have to check.

Are you looking for a factory chip/tune or performance aftermarket? If you do have a 484 DME I would encourage swapping to a 404DME to open up tuning and chip options. It's an easy swap.

I'm looking for a performance one and what do I need to do to swap to a 404? If I can find a 484 then I'll just get that one. Looking to spend $300 or less

Swap to 404, you'll be less then $100 depending on performance chip of choice. Install a 404 dme, clip and leave unhooked the green wire at pin 66 in the dme harness. Done.
