610519610520610521ive owned this car since 2010 or 11, its been stored winters in a heated garage, most of the time it sat with no engine. it has no rust rust on the body.
it was purchased as a 2000 323i sport package with a blown head gasket. engine and trans were removed and sold off for parts/scrap. i installed a m52b28 2.8L iron block engine and zf 5 speed trans from a crashed 97' 328i convertible with if i remember correctly something like 115k miles(chassis has 190k), dont remember but engine vin can be found and checked. these engines are tough and good for boost.
the good:
one off custom turbo kit with "RK tunes" engine management via stock computer, pump gas (91+ octane) and e85 tunes. engine is ran by seperate obd2 (96-98) engine harness and computer.
RK tunes tune package blow through high horsepower MAF, 80lb injectors rated for 600-800hp on e85, tuned DME (computer)
walbro 485 high flow fuel pump
6 puck copper ceramic sprung clutch kit with lighter flywheel, new throw out bearing slave cyl . all metal short throw shifter (no plastic or nylon pivot ball)
subframe professionally reinforced, car was flat-bed towed into bmw minnetonka during the class action lawsuit around 2012, inspected and qualified for full repair.
oil pump nut tack welded
new water pump, belts, independant controlled electric cooling fan, spark plugs, poly engine mounts, and so on
turbo is a borg warner s36x rated at 600+ hp 38mm vband mvs wastegate set at 10psi, 50mm tial style bov, front mount intercooler, ATI e46 gauge pod with AEM wideband and boost gauge. car has never been on a dyno. no idea what power it makes.
custom 3" turbo back exhaust no cats oval straight through muffler, vband sections. LOUD but reasonably quiet when cruising. sounds like a dump truck under full boost with open wastegate and truck-sized turbo. has traction issues. should have a m3 LSD or welded diff.
bad:
tires are old. has scratches and dings mostly from being in a shop/garage for 5yrs or so. most of it on the hood.
was involved in one accident that i know of, due to old hard tires and probabaly too much power, slid into a curb. back passenger side wheel and suspension was wrecked and replaced. side curtain air bag did deploy in my GFs face. took car to 2 body shops to make sure there was no structural damage, and replaced wheel, control arms and axle. i have paper work.
due to the fact the engine is ran by a seperate computer, most dummy lights are on on the dash, its not really an issue, because the wideband and boost gauges block most of that part of the cluster. car has no ac. radio, heat, speedo are fully functional lol
This car is kind of special, because most e36 or e46 are either slow, rusty, or very expensive. And anyone with $500 can have a fast 335i lol. But they have expensive maintenance .
dont really want to sell, but ive had this longer then any other project or car, and dont get to drive it often. make offer ,or looking for trades for something interesting. i would only trade for somthing pretty cool, maybe a fd r x7 roller , cool side by side or crazy motor cycle.
$8000 also consider trades recreational vehicles etc..
