Does anyone know where I can find information on local (or not so local) auctions for used BMW's? I'm looking for 97 - 98 740i or il turned back on a lease etc. Something was mentioned in one of the other threads in the 7 forum, but after searching, I couldn't find what they were referring to.

Has anyone here bought through the auction? Any catches to how it works and what should I expect to pay for say - 40-50k miles?

Mods - feel free to move to general forum - I just thought since it was mentioned here previously, the source might see the thread & reply quicker.

One very BIG caveat: you don't really know what you're getting at a Dealer Auction - car could be in incredible condition or require a $4K investment to bring to saleable condition.

Also, you probably will NOT get the remaining balance on a factory warranty unless you go with a lower mileage or earlier model year. Auctions probably don't CPO the car;)

If you want to spend 31,500 for mine, I MAY convince my wife to sell it:) Remember mine has the equivalent of a new engine:D partly kidding...but if you're serious we can talk. My car is still under CPO.
