Hello all . I am new here and i need some help with rear mid in my e39 (is same like e38)
I changed my rear armest with BMW e38 multifunction rear armrest . The problem is that i have an aftermaket navigation and my rear mid don't work . Is any chance to make it working ? I want to make it working and have full control of the rear mid .
Anyone know how i can do that ? I can't make it working individualy ?
I don't want to change my navi with oem because oem is too old .
Sorry for my bad English

nothing ?
Just code your IKE using NCS to tell it there is a rear MID.

To have the rear MID fully function will require a BM24 (as you are in Europe) factory radio. As the BM24 is what sends the display information and responds to the button selections via the IBUS from the rear MID.
As mentioned by psjr, if you code the IKE to indicate that there is a rear MID, the date and time will display on the rear MID.
So with an after market Nav/Radio all the rear MID will do is display the date and time.
As a further note, if you install or have a BM54 (or BM53 for NA) radio, it does not have the code/software in it to work with a rear MID. If one adds an Intravee into their entertainment system with a BM53 radio, the rear MID will function and control the various audio components as expected. The reason for this is that Richard at Intravee wrote some custom code for the Intravee to behave/spoof a BM23 radio to display info onto the rear MID and to respond to its button selections.
