Hello all,
I was wondering if anyone with both navigation, Mk 3 and a Lowe's dsp Amp would be able to pull there eeprom coding data with BMW scanner and upload it for me.
I recently retrofitted nav and replaced my old Phillips amp with the updated Loews one but need to get the coding right for everything to work together.
If anyone could upload the eeproms for the modules so I can attempt to flash them on mine to see if that fixes the issue it would be greatly appreciated

I can try to do that. I'll have to dbl check what amp I'm running, I do know I have an MK3 and 4 as well. I'm working all weekend I may have a lil time to get the info otherwise Monday evening might be the earliest I can extract it.

Thank you ! Whenever you have a chance would be great. I just want to see if this will make it work since they would be coded to communicate properly then I would think.

You should be able to just blank code both of them with NCS Expert I would think. By default there shouldn't be any issue with the MKIII and a DSP amp playing nice. What issues are you currently having?

I was getting sound cut out after about a minute. Also getting eeprom error codes in PA soft.
My idea is if I upload the eeproms for both from a 7 series it should account for all the speakers and communicate properly.

NCS Expert code to default and then code using your vehicles ZCS and you are set.

Okay, question is which module is the navigation computer? I can find the DSP amp since it's simply DSP in NCS but which is the navigation module?
Also would that work since the cars ZCS doesn't have navigation in the code since it didn't come with it? Would I have to code the navigation into the cars ZCS?

I can't remember off the top of my head what the MKIII module is named in NCS, I think the MKIV is named something like GT-Nav.....Another thing I would have to double check, as I'm messing around with dead nav/vid modules killing my battery constantly....ugh....
For what it's worth tho, if you're radio is just shutting down after 30 secs, just recode the DSP to your car, and if all is well from that point, I'd forget about the EEPROM codes. If it's not disfuntionally broke, don't fix it.
My newly adopted E38 motto as of late.....

Heres the problem I've been thinking about though. If I code the DSP amp for my cars ZCS it won't have navigation ticked as an option, therefore it probably wont get the signal from the computer to stay on and still turn off.
How do I edit the cars ZCS in NCS to add Navigation and the screen as an option and take out the BMW business radio? Then after this I can recode the amp using the ZCS and it will work properly

I have never seen my nav comp in NCS. I always used BMW Scanner for coding nav comps. So, I would code the amp using NCS and the code the nav comp with BMW Scanner. Typically the only thing you can set in the nav comp is the VIN.

Okay but does the cars ZCS need to be changed to add navigation as an option?

NCS will update the ZCS when you code the amp. Look for DSP in the list of available modules when in NCS set all available options to your vehicle chassis. NCS Dummy is your friend in this, use it.

If you use the "retrofit" option on ista p or Progman/SSS part of the coding procedure is updating the ckm/zcs files for whatever you retrofit in.
Example, going from MK2 nav to MK 4. Retrofit process of adding the mk4 to the car is no longer having to use the original separate Trimble module in the trunk, since the mk 3 and 4 are integrated into the nav. So when you do the programming/coding, the software knows that and changes the zcs to reflect that upgrade, and will also remove the Trimble module (that is no longer needed) from the control module tree and in essence sits dormant, or in my case, a landfill somewhere since you can't even give those away.
