Just removed right rear Koni shock from my son's car (mounting nuts pulled out the bottom of the shock tower). Going to have AKG weld-in reinforcing plate installed. The shock mount was pounding against the bottom of the tower, so I removed it to avoid any more damage until I can get it fixed. Car not being driven, except for short trip to the welder.Any way, I was wondering if the existing shock mount was installed correctly. I can find no installation instructions online, but on the Rogue sight I find that their mount is installed differently. Their plate with the threaded studs installs from the top of the shock tower and the nuts are inside the wheel well.Should the TCK's be installed the same as the Rogue's? With the stud plate installed from the top and acting like a reinforcement plate? If so, that may be why the shock mount nuts pulled out through the bottom of the shock tower.

that looks upside down. the gold plate with the bolts should be installed from inside the trunk first, then slide the shock up and put the nuts on.
make sure you flip the top hat too

I also noticed that the shock mount was upside down (per the info I found on the Rogue site). After I have the right side repaired, I will be reinstalling the left-side shock mount properly (that shock tower checks OK).

I have reinstalled the left rear shock with the reinforcement plate inside the trunk and the shock mount right-side-up. I also used self-locking nuts. I added a bump-stop, gasket, and protection boot to the shock since these items were missing. I will do the same with the right side once the weld-in repair plate from AKG is in place.

For stock diameter shock shafts, notice washer #7 in this diagram
