Looking for recommendations on struts/shocks. I've done a fair bit of research and found some posts saying that the OEM shocks wear out around 50k so I want to avoid those unless there's a pressing reason to get them.

To be honest, I don't know much about cars and I'm feeling a little overwhelmed with all the options posted in threads on this forum and elsewhere.

Can anyone recommend something decent for street use? I don't take it on the track. I found suspension kits that include the struts, shocks, springs as well as mounting plates, sway bar links, spring pad and spacer plates. Do I need to get those other components or is replacing just the struts, shocks and springs enough?

Thanks in advance! :)

Aftermarket shocks aren't necessarily going to last any longer than OEM. All shocks are wear items. People mainly get aftermarket like Koni or Bilstein for performance reasons. If you only drive your car on the street, there's nothing wrong with OEM.
