So I picked up my new 335i e93, silver, 54k on it and it was originally a lease. I payed a total of 16k for it and it basically looks brand new other than a bit of curb rash on one of the wheels and a few interior scratches that are barely noticeable. grey/black 2tone interior
anyways, I was trying to update my software on the I drive but I don't seem to be able to get an update or something I thought 2010 models were supposed to be upgradable via one of the 2 USB ports? Anyone know how/why i cant get an update for mine? Im coming from a 2001 miata, and i must say the technology advancements with the idrive over the old radio stuff is pretty amazing. I really like the idrive.
SO for my plans with the car basically from what i've read i want to go with a jb4 and get a new exhaust with either no cat or a downpipe that can be diverted around the cats for track purposes, intake and i want to put a BOV on it (flame if you want, I like the BOV sound... my car not yours...). I haven't read a lot into it, but ultimately i'd like to make 500 WHP on 93 oct and still retain the ability to pass my OBD2 computer inspections in NC. Other than exhaust/DP, intake and the jb4 what should i expect to look for to see 500 WHP?
Been researching the Jb4 so far and it seems pretty straight forward of an install, and it should be pretty easy to see 400 or so HP without any major upgrades, other than that i want to put some coilovers on it and get some 19x10's with some 275-285 tires in the rear
What order would you guys recommend getting parts and such? I'M really thinking the most practical thing would be to get the JB4 before anything else since its not much more than the intakes are and nets the most gains on a stock car.
one thought about the car... i'm really glad i only spent 16k for this, and not the 61k+ that the original person would have paid... its pretty awesome stock.
