My driver's side seat belt tensioner has triggered the SRS/Airbag light to come on permanently and I found out the problem is one of the wires going into the connector of the pyro is cut right at the connector. Is it possible to repair or resolder this somehow without having to replace the entire tensioner?

If you can fix it, then it can be fixed. The problem is, the SRS light is on, and will remain on even after you fix the cause that made it come on. You can cut the zip tie to pull the plug. The zip tie only holds the connector from falling off.

After the repair you will need something like INPA to reset the SRS light. Mine came on and I was able to repair the non-pyro seat belt tensioner, there was a lot of oxide in the connector so check yours too.

Like the two before me have said...yes and reset using an SRS/Airbag tool. I have the yellow (B800?) one found on amazon for around $20 and it worked great for troubleshooting and resetting my airbag light (which was a similar tensioner issue).

Don't bother yourself with that. Self-repair can be damaging even more. Send it to some repair shop.

The B800 as well as the Peake SRS tool do not work on BMW built before 1994/5, see also the info on this on the Peake website.

If I'm not mistaken, the tensioner in OP's picture is the later model one (non spring loaded) which should be in a later model E36. I can't see what car he drives at the moment as I'm on mobile.

I just mentioned that because otherwise people believe these reset tools work on all model years. According to his profile in this case is a 1997
My Cars: 1997 BMW 328is
so they should work.
