1996 320i Intermittent Power Windows Problem

Hi Guys,

I'm having some issues with my power windows(my car only has power windows for the front).
They stop working from time to time.
Usually after I shut off the engine, open and close the doors(either front left or right, NO PROBLEM WITH REAR DOORS), the light goes out in both window buttons, after that they don't work, this even happens with key in the keyhole.
They start working usually after 5-10 min of driving, they just light up again, and work fine.
Also sometimes while driving, they just light out, and stop working, after a period they work again.
Another procedure to make them work again, is to leave the car locked for a longer period, come back, and they will work.
I have searched the whole forum, as far as I could read, it's usually a comfort relay problem(which should be gone after 93' models).
I have replaced all fuses that could be the culprit, fuse 11 and 43, I don't have a fuse 14, as some would suggest.
So I started looking for the ZKE module which I surprisingly don't have, take a look at this picture, the ZKE module should be at the very top, but there's only an empty room there, really don't understand this:

And what is that module from the top anyway, haven't seen it from other owners?

The wide, thin module that spans the width of the module rack looks very aftermarket. After all the trouble they had in the 1980s, BMW changed to connectors that were sure to retain their contacts – at least for new car production.
