My car's battery was disconected. I was involved in a small crash (rear passenger side door) and had it fixed and painted.

The guy from the shop said he disconnected it, and when he re-connected the battery, the windows had stopped working. (Is this possible?)

I tried rolling the windows down with the key FOB, but only the rear windows came down. Now I can't roll the rear windows up nor the front windows down.

I checked all the fuses concerning windows and they seem to be in good shape. The car starts and everything else seems to be working just like it did before, except it won't signal turns, and the hazard lights won't blink.

I have NO IDEA what it could be, any clues?

Best regards!

It sounds like a General Module Issue to me. It could be possible that the module could have been shorted out when the battery was disconnected or that the wires leading to the GMV could have been damaged during the collision.

There are a couple of possibilities. The windows may need to be initialized, the IBS system might be acting up and cutting power to non-essential systems, or the battery safety terminal might be blown from the accident. It may help to read the car with ISTA to check for JBE codes and things like that. If you have a K+DCAN cable, I can get you links to ISTA.

You need a FRM (Footwell Module).

That's a good thought.

OP should also ensure the battery is a FULL charge. The car starts doing lots of weird stuff when the battery is low.

Here's your answer right here. They are very prone to freaking out and turning themselves into a worthless hunk of plastic. Here in the US, BMW applied a special warranty on this part.
