Hi, my 2002 325xi car recently broke down and my mom decided to help me buy a new used one. She gave me a budget of 15k and told me to look for CPO cars.
I had no idea where to start, but I really liked my old car (despite all the problems it had, driving it was nice) so I wanted to stay with the same make/model/series. I don't really know much about cars so I'm looking for some advice.

I found a CPO 2010 328i convertible listed for 14k. Its 2 dr, 4 seats. Carfax seems to be good, it had 2 previous owners, no accidents, and regular maintenance. Only recall is that passenger airbag one. Mileage is 90k.\

1. Do you think the mileage is too high? My old car had 244k before we gave up on it.
2. My mom is very much against BMW's because she thinks they are unreliable in terms of needing frequent, expensive repairs. I have heard the same opinions from my friends, but none have owned one before. How true is this? How much is maintenance in a year normally? I could probably learn how to do the simpler things like an oil change, I know how to change headlight bulbs??
3. She is also worried that I will flip and die in a crash because it is a convertible. Are they more likely to flip? Are they made less sturdy? I am a careful driver, I don't speed, and I will probably keep the top on unless it's local driving.
4. My dad is worried that the roof mechanism will break and be expensive to repair. Does it break easily?
5. Is the price ok? Should I try for lower?

Thank you :)

Also taking other car make/model suggestions.

The concerns your parents have expressed are legit. Honda Accord Sport with 6 speed manual is perfect if you are not a person who works on cars.
