hello humans
can someone please tell me what the mininum thickness in mm is for the rear brake rotor on a e36 328i coupe with vented brake discs in the rear ?
i get contradictory results from google

Unfortunately that only shows solid rears. 8.4mm
Vented fronts are 20.4mm

If you have access to the rotor, the minimum thickness should be stamped on it somewhere.

well, i don't want to take it away if it isn't under the minimun thickness and therefore no, i can't look if it's on the rotor

what is the part number of the rotor you have installed. Basically the stamp with min. thickness you can see on the rotor when you take the wheel off. But with a part number we probably can find the min. thickness also on the internet.

i guess it's 17.4 mm, at least that's what shows up in the part shops

yes, original is vented 276 X 19 mm 34216864903. That is what I found
