First - next to my fuse box is this little box with wires and two 25 amp old style German fuses. What is this for?

Next - what is the button next to the fader control under the radio. Doesn't show up on owners manual. I don't have radio manual (anyone know where to get a copy). But the button shows up on a 1986 635 sales brochure.

Window lock is button in the middle of driver window controls. It's there and that is what owners manual says. There are always mysteries on older cars.

Button on the control panel is the circuit breaker/switch that protects/controls electric window control.
The fuse box is an auxiliary power connection that is a source for owner installed equipment such as alarms.

You are missing the cover for the aux fuses.
Releasing the unmarked button for the windows will shut off power to all windows, not just lock out rear windows which is what the button on the console controls.
Both are shown in the electrical troubleshooting manual.

Thanks,
I have the cover for the aux fuses, it shows in one of photos. Was this original or add on. It is very neat, with it on what looks like an original bracket.

I thought that was what the dash button was, but in the owners manual is shows that to be on the das panel below the steering wheel. There is nothing there, but there is possible cutout. Another case of manual and reality not matching.

I've seen owners install an extra switch in that position that is not the window breaker. For instance, I've seen it done for manual control of the central locking, or manual control of the power antenna.

More homework for me.

Add on fuse box but an original BMW part. On my 81 euro, it powers the a/c which was aftermarket

The dash switch does turn all the windows. Glad to know do I don't try to find a problem with my Windows when I hit the switch by accident.
That fuse box is interesting since the car has factory air. Curiosity why it was installed, but it's nice having two fused 25 amp circuits.

Suppose you could use it for an audio amp or something like that.
