View Full Version : O2 placement with an H-pipe?

Removed the old cat from the e24 and installed straight pipes. Instead of fabbing an X-pipe I decided to fab an H-pipe instead since it's a bit easier to do. Not sure if my O2 placement is a concern but I installed it on one pipe at about the same place as on the original x-pipe.

What do you guys think. Should I be concerned that I'm not sampling all 6 cylinders?

It's only going to make adjustments based on what those 3 cyls. are doing. As long all cylinders are doing the same you ought to be all right. Me, I'd move it.

Move it to where? I was thinking at the H pipe but I'm not sure how much exhaust flow goes through it.

H pipe is the only place common to all six cyls. I think the exhaust there probably is a bit stagnant but perhaps satisfactory for sampling. I'll bet the guys who fab and build race cars could answer this better.

Thanks for the replies. From internet searches most say don't worry about it being on one pipe. I think I may just X-pipe it instead.
