I've been holding off on buying a new steering wheel for my car because the horn button has been broken for a while. I've wanted to fix it before a new wheel is installed, but am not too sure how to do it.

I need some ideas on how to replace or repair the plastic piece that holds the button. PO had it held together with duct tape, which eventually melted in heat and took a chunk of the plastic with it. Has anybody dealt with this problem before or have any ideas? It's much appreciated.

Any way you can drill out those rivets and replace with a good assembly from a parts car?

Alternatively you could make an external push button as your horn that you mount somewhere else in the cabin.

Parts Car would be a good idea.
I've also wondered how JB Weld or something of the likes would hold up if I broke off the remaining plastic, sanded the base, and attach a new plastic surround piece. I'd also have to figure how the measurements for a replacement piece too if I went that route

Damn, can't beat that, and the price is great, too. Nice find.
