Can anyone share a picture of this?

I retrofitted a newer (US '85 style) front spoiler to my US '84 633. It looks worlds of difference nicer except it doesn't fit uniformly to the front bumper. There is a gap that varies between 1/2" to 1" between the spoiler and the bumper. I get the feeling that there should be no gap but I've never actually seen how its supposed to look. All the pictures on the internet are doing too good a job of showing how nice the car as a whole looks.

I tried to take some pictures to show what I'm talking about but I could only do so much with a flashlight and iphone camera flash. I want to find out how this is supposed to mount so I can get it painted. if there is supposed to be a gap I want it to be uniform.

Yup, there's suppose to be a gap. My 89 had this issue in the past but after going under the car and pushing the valence up while tightening/angling the screws the issue went away. Here's how it looks on my 89

Air dam sag is not uncommon. Some people just need to adjust the attachment every so often, others go for epoxy, zip ties, etc.

The gap is there to allow the bumper to retract with the bumper shocks without distorting the valance. As mentioned you can adjust the gap for uniformity by adjusting the mounting brackets.

How much gap is typical then? I know the valence doesn't actually attach to the bumper. However even muscling with it and adjusting the bolts I can't really get my gap even across.

fairlu certain the valence is warped and I'm hoping a body shop will be able to straighten it out as part of prepping for paint
