Hi -
07 BMW 328 car would not start this morning. Everything powered up and battery checks out ok. I hear the fuel pump activate for a few seconds and a click. I'm thinking starter but, before I spend all day replacing I read on here to check BST? I've included a picture and not sure if it's open? Tough to take a picture but, does look like it is separated.

Here is another picture. Right where the yellow arrow is, not sure if that is normal? Should it be flush? If anyone has a similar BST can you verify.. thanks

Ended up being the starter. Took about 4 hours to do, starter is below manifold. Just a couple things I learned on the starter replacement;
>> Just move the manifold to the side; tight but very do able.
>> Use a 11 mm Box to get the top bolt off the starter
>> Put a piece of paper in the socket using a long extension to hold bolt in for bottom(when you put back on).
>> Wear long sleeves so arms won't get scratched up...
>> Don't forget to order bolts (Aluminum) when you get starter - had to order online couldn't find them anywhere
Lol dude .....you need better yellow arrows....you had me looking hard for it ☺
