Hey guys,
New here but I'm sure ill be around since this car (2007 BMW 335i) keeps giving me awesome surprises :eyecrazy I've been putting off replacing the window regulator since it usually worked after a couple of tries but it finally gave out last week. I replaced it with an OE part which seems to be working fine but with one problem that I cant figure out. The regulator replacement was pretty simple and took about 20-30 minutes then I got stuck with the window closing and then going back down to the half-way position, this was fixed with a 'reset' (closing the door and moving the window up while holding the switch down for 20 seconds and then moving it down and holding for 20 seconds). Now the window seems to get stuck in the down position which was the initial problem. BUT if I pull on the switch lightly first and then pull it again to get the window up it works fine. If I pull the switch all the way for automatic up, it stutters and does not go up. I have a friend who has owned BMWs and he suggested that something might be over tightened or misaligned, I took everything apart and put it back together and cant seem to figure out the problem. Could the regulator be faulty? it seems to be doing its job after it gets going... I'm sure you guys have some insight on something I've missed.
Thanks,
Den
