Hi,
I have a 325i E90 and the outside temperature is Reading +50 after a short drive. when a started the car this morning it was +5 celsius outside, but the gauge read +35 Celsius.
after a few miles the gauge read +50, a difference of 45 degrees.
it seems like the inside temperature is affected by this faulty reading of the outside temperature? We are going towards winter here in Sweden and I don't want to freeze my but of!!
I have bought I new sensor from Germany, but now the million dollar question, do I really have to remove the whole front bumper to replace it??
there must be a easer way to do it??
Please all help is appreciated... but please remember the model of my BMW is E90

Hope to hear from you all smart BMW owners

Bumper and wheel arches do NOT need to come off! Take out the 4 torx bolts at the top of the front panel. With the front panel loose at the top, you can get a hand behind the left side kidney to loosen the retaining clips that hold it to the front panel. Remove the left side kidney (the right one as you look at the front of the car). You can then locate the sensor under the flap below the kidney. Replace the sensor, or in my case, solder a broken wire. Push the kidney back into place. Replace the 4 bolts.

Very easy repair.
