Hey I'm new here. I just bought a 1993 740iL and have been really excited about replacing the suspension and getting her back to her prime. I bought most parts from BAV Auto such as upper and lower control arms, sway bar links, and front and rear shocks (bill stein sport with new coil overs to match. I also did the SLS delete with that billstein package. Unless I just completely messed something up, I am out of options here as to why it handles like there aren't any new parts whatsoever. In fact it feels like a big slushy. Worse than before. I have checked everything I can think of, albeit the alignment, which is being done Tuesday. I've asked the folks at the dealer to check everything out and see what's up. I was hoping to get some peace of mind from some of you guys as to what it might be that is awry. Any help is greatly appreciated! Peace!

New or better shocks expose other suspension issues. Car is 23 years old. You replace a few other parts but there are a lot more. Get a pro to check the rest. You might be able to jack up the front and wiggle ball joints, but bushings may take some prying to test. Make sure you installed the endlinks properly. If not bolted tight they will clunk.

Thanks. Turns out I got the wrong springs for the rears. Correct set is being shipped out today. I'm also going to finish it all out with doing the front sway bar bushings (eurothane), as well as the rears and the rear links. If it still isn't great, I've got some 17" wheels coming too. I'm hoping this makes it more enjoyable. I got high hopes. Sure love the way it looks and sounds. Ready for the ride to match.
