Car overheating....again

Well, just changed my oil filter and oil and my car overheated after leaving it idle for a few minutes. A little smoke came from the engine bay and the aux fan came on. Not sure where to start. Maybe I spilled oil somewhere in the engine bay? Having so much issues I might as well make a thread with all of them lol.

Most obvious thing to check would be the fan clutch.

Thanks. I ran it for 30 mins this morning and the gauge didn't even touch half. I recall that I did indeed spill oil on the engine. I've changed from 15W40 to 20W50 and The car runs a lot better

Maybe you got some oil on the belts, and the water pump pulley was slipping?

Not sure what happened. No smoke yet today so I guess that's good.
