07 328i e90 125k miles. Intermittently when engaging cruise I get a *bling* with "Cruise control malfunction!" message. Used to only happen about once a month if driving longer than 45 min, but now it happens after driving 15 min every time I go anywhere. The cruise never disengages while driving, but simply wont work the next time its engaged from a stop or whatever. Putting the car in neutral and restarting the engine without even stopping temporarily fixes the problem.
The only code in the vehicle is a d357 no message:Gearbox in the abs module. I found a TSB for issues with the wiring connector at the transmission, but everything looks fine, and I don't notice any running problems or shifting problems.
I suspect that it has nothing to do with an actual module to module comm problem and there is either a problem with the engine or trans which isnt quite bad enough to throw a code, yet still yields an unexpected result resulting in the d357.
I was just wondering if anyone has run into anything like this.
