Need Help Please

My wife's 2012 mini Cooper S Clubman with just over 40k on the odometer is thowing the check engine light on and when I pull the code I get "0x3490 Map Thermostat Activation : Line break>Not currently detected:Warning Lamp On". Where can I find out what is bad without taking it to the closest MINI dealer which is 3-4 hours away so I can get it fixed? I have tried to search that code with no results. Thanks in advance for your help.

Almost certainly the problem is the thermostat. It is a very common failure on the Minis. I believe you need part number 11537647751. You may need a wiring adapter, check here:
