What level of extended warranty to buy?

I posted this in the 5 Series forum but late 7 Series owners are going to have the same reliability outlook so I thought I would put it here as well.


My 2012 550i x drive has the factory warranty extended to 2018. BMW wants crazy money to add more, so I am looking at aftermarket cover through a company called Ensurall for four additional years to a max of 120k miles. The car has 33k miles right now so that takes me to 2022. Beyond that the car is worth so little no point.

My question is, would anyone pay 20% extra to insure the bolded? I probably wouldn't but I have only been part of the F10 community for a couple of weeks. Thanks for any responses.

In a word... YES. Those are all expensive components. You should ask if your lights are included especially if you have LED's.
