OK, so I was bored and decided to figure out how to remove all the lights as practice for when I get all my clears in soon. Corners and tails were painfully easy, but headlights took some more time. Didn't help that I dropped a socket part into one of the holes in the headlight harness... anyways, I got the socket piece out after removing the headlight assembly entirely, and put it back in.
Just for the hell of it, I tried all of the lights just to make sure I hadn't screwed up anything permanently. Unfortunately, both of the headlights (low and high beams, left and right) and the foglights (left/right) don't work anymore. The indicators in the dash for those lights don't even come on when the switches are on. I'm pretty sure the switches are OK, as the car beeps and buzzes like normal when I open the door or take out the keys with the light switch still in the "on" position. What's wierd is that the corner lights and the taillights (well, I know for sure that the rear turn signals work, I assume the brake and reverse lights are on the same circuit and fuse.
I know for sure that the lights were working before as I tested them just before I started removing them. I checked the fuses and the connections, and they seem to be just fine. My questions:
1) Why would both headlights be affected if I only removed the driver's side headlight assembly?
2) Why are the fog lights affected at all? I didn't touch them! :shifty
3) Why weren't the front turn signals affected?
4) What are these circuit relay switches I'm hearing about and where do I get to them?
5) Is this something I can fix myself, or do I just need to hand it to a car electrician?
Thanks guys!
