The author seems to be an unpaid college student looking to make his mark in the world. The statement, ' That S52 isn’t the twitchy time bomb that Europe received in the E36 M3. ' is not accurate, in fact it, is flat wrong. I wager that the S50B32 is a more stout engine than the S52. Both are great engines, both have VANOS issues, the NA version has potentially catastrophic oil pump problems and junk water pumps, neither of which the S50B32 suffers.


Hey, he got my attention, but now I think even less of Jalopnix.

@mauim3mania You hit the nail right on. S50B32 is by far a better built machine. I look at it as an "Individual" type luxury/upgrade on all fronts.
