Does anyone know if I can swap the strut top hats to gain more camber on the e90 330i sport package, like on the e36? And/Or can I add shims to the lower strut mounts, again like the e36?

*Quick background on above questions - I did the top hats swap on my e36m3 and got -2.7° L and -3° R. When I switched to coilovers with camber plates I could only get -2.3° L/R, so I added shims to the lower strut mounts for an additional -1.2° L/R (-3.5° total each side), also requires longer bolts. Pic for reference.

I know about removing the alignment pin.

So, after much searching and looking at RealOEM expanded views and descriptions of the strut assembly, swapping the top hats wouldn't do anything, and the mounting of the strut to the hub is different than the e36 and doesn't allow for the same modification.

That said, the 1er's have had a lot of success with milling out the strut holes 5mm, and thus gaining an additional -1° camber with no ill effects doing track and auto-x.
