Nutshell been driving V8 BMW stick
For 12 years... Bought an auto E46 as a new DD (in December) and have always loved the 335 especially the 335is... Am going to tune it so the extra HP really has no real appeal to me... Is it worth paying the premium for the IS and not get the DCT? I will say I would love to be able to just smash and go... And will likely be driven in city traffic a lot... I thought I was sold on the DCT until I saw my "dream car" essentially, at the dealership today, it was a grey on black, 2012 335is with every option imaginable 38k miles, 27k$... Talk me into or out of this car... I really like the Idea of the DCT, I havnt drivin one with it... I'm going back to test drive this on Thursday when I have more time and see... I want into the forced induction world as I've been NA my whole life... Car seems like a good deal... What should I look for and whatnot? At this low of miles I wouldn't expect much to be done but I guess it's good to have had a new water pump? This is my first E92... Have an E46 and E39 I'll have them forever and I think... I just feel like I'm paying a premium for the 335is and since I'm tuning it extra HP is not incentive and neither is DCT as its 6 speed... I do LOVE the body, suspension, wheels everything else... I just wanna hear from the owners or experience N54 guys... I was going stage 3 Dinan it (whatever N54 pref E92 that I do get) and I know a lot of u are going to say... Don't do Dinan its too expensive for too little gains"... Well I'd love to here alternatives bedsides the JB4... Dinan is tried and true and backed my BMW for a reason... Altho Steve Dinan left the company... Anyway, this post may seem like a pointless rant but I figure I'm not gonna dive right into anything until I talk with the owners/experts... I've posted in here before when feeling out...

Basically is the extra $ worth the suspension wheels and body? Why or why not... I do want it as sport as they come from BMW so... I am a purist in that regard, and will probly never change the wheels to any none E92 wheel or any stance stuff... Going for a go fast but comfortable mtn sport driving on the weekend Daily race car of sorts...

Bump I'm going to test drive the car today... Anything on the vehicle history that would indicate improper break period ? Long shot but, that's my biggest concern, that they just "got on it" right away... Car has 38k miles and unless it's had more than one owner from anything, but, multiple one year leases. I might just be a buyer...

Any 335is owners have Any input ? Or anyone with knowledge on N54 in early mileage ?

Congrats on your purchase man. regardless of milage, there's a few things to go over on the N54. I'm hoping by the time of the 335is, BMW sorted out the issues with the HPFP.

I have a 335is with a 6 speed manual. I drove the flappy paddle DCT too but decided it wasn't for me. Daily driver in traffic every day and don't miss the automatic one bit.

Good choice angeleye! Enjoy!
