I am sure this has been asked before, but I can not seem to find it.

I am following the Pelican guide on replacing the center support bearing and the flex disk.

My issue is that I can not seem to get the back half of the driveshaft off. The pelican guide says to just remove the driveshaft after removing the two bolts for the center bearing. Thanks, but it does not seem to just come off.

What am I missing.

Also, is there anything else about the Pelican write up that I need to be aware of.

Thanks

Ed

You have to break the nut on the differential to driveshaft mating point. Torque with a 50mm wrench twisting toward the passenger side of the vehicle while using a pry bar to hold the U joint of the driveshaft stable. Don't loosen the U joint retaining bolts (x2) until you have undone the driveshaft at the rear differential.

Note, for reinstall the order is critical for proper lash on the drivetrain. For reinstall torque down the nut at the differential, then the trans, THEN the U joint.
