bad place. t-stat won't come out & water pump

problems attempting to change out t-stat and water pump

(1)well the t-stat is half destroyed and will not come out---any tips

(2)water pump will not come out and i dont have the "M6" bolts needed to do so. (what are M6 bolts? 6mm? what thread? what length

(3)i've "flushed" the system" bu the overflow tank is half full of tap water? help

any help is apperciated as it appears this will be takig my night and perhaps my saturday

Here's what I would do. Make sure the blue drain valve at the bottom is open. Make your hand into a circle and put it over the expansion tank opening. Put your mouth in your hand making a seal and blow. All of the fluid will drain out of the valve. You may have to blow a few times. Sounds pretty queer, eh?

Incase people have problems with #2 in the future, I used the bolts that hold the thermostat housing to pop it off. They're the perfect length and work great.
