Hello all. For Christmas, I treated my self to a new 328xi E92-2008 with 85k. Now, I am starting to regret my desicion. So far, I've replaced my valve cover gasket twice, replaced all 4 RFTs, both costing almost five thousand dollars. Now, my usual mechanic read the code that the Crankshaft position sensor was acting up. He said well either you have to replace the sensors soon, or this could mean that there is a serious engine problem. Being a first-time BMW owner, this is concerning. Can someone please help? Thanks

So; your mechanic did a bad job on the 1st valve cover replacement, and you had to pay the same again?
And, how do you pay $5K for two sets of RFT's? My sport package 335d costs just around $1500 for a complete set (of Michelin OEM tires), yet you say you've paid more?
Find a better mechanic that knows what he's doing, and that doesn't over-charge you.

Agree with the person above head gaskets are not hard and the fact that you already changed it twice is not the cars fault. Run flat tires are expensive but a good set runs like $1500? Frankly you have been getting ripped off and you should maybe educate yourself before you buy something like with trusting your mechanic about the head gasket.
Good luck.

The OP is not making good choices in where he buys services and tires. THose tire prices are ludicrous. More homework before buying will make a big difference.
