Good evening ladies and gentleman,

My name is Seth. I purchased a 2006 325i about four weeks ago. I am completely out of my element with this. I used to drive a 1995 monte carlo and I always worked on fords before.

So, basically, here are the two issues i'm having.

Issue one: my car SEEMS to be equipped with bluetooth audio. I have buttons on the steering wheel, the radio, and even mics in the car. However, the problem is, bluetooth does not show up at all on my stereo as an option for audio. I have attempted to find the fuses that are related to both the stereo and what i believe is the bluetooth. there were fuses missing so i put them in. They are all getting power, yet i still get nothing. So i guess really my question is, 1) anyway to tell if i truly have bluetooth? and 2) if i do, how do i get it to finally show up as an option and fix my problem.

Onto issue number two: my cruise control is acting... funky I guess? sometimes when I start the car and get to the speed i want to cruise at, i try to turn it on and it does nothing but give me the cruise control symbol and ding at me. but as soon as i turn the car off, then back on, it'll work just fine. sometimes, it will also work while i'm driving down one interstate but then when I turn it off to slow down and get ready to get onto another highway, it won't turn back on when I get up to speed. but yet again, if i pull over, turn the car off, then turn it back on, it will work just fine. does anyone have any idea what could be causing this or any idea as to how to fix it?

Now, I imagine there are probably several posts for issues pertaining to this, but as far as i'm concerned, it would be much easier to just refer to one post to be able to solve both issues.

thank you for taking the time to read through my lengthy and probably grammatically incorrect post, and thank you even more if you have a solution or even a possible solution.

Have a wonderful day.

Bluetooth is not a standard option on E9x 3-series. The steering wheel and radio control have the buttons but BT may not be there. The sure tell is if you have the SOS/BMW Assist button next to the sunroof controls.

There are ways to install it aftermarket: check bimmerfest and e90post for options (depends upon which radio/nav/etc options the car has.) There are a lot of posts from several years ago detailing this when the cars were new.

On the Cruise control; my guess is that something in the ABS/DSC system is preventing cc activation. Restarting the car often clears those temporary faults. There are probably codes stored in the CC system and ABS/DSC system if that is the case. You need a BMW-specific code reader - the ones that Autozone and Pep Boys and O'Reilly's may well not be able to access those separate systems (only the ECU codes.) I would advise spending $50-$75 to have a garage with BMW reader read them to diagnose the problem. (There are more than a dozen systems that can be read by OBD readers, and not all readers read the accessory systems.)
