Hey Guys,

91 E34 M30 stock here, only 140k miles. Driving my kid home from preschool when I stopped at a stop sign. When I hit the throttle to go, it almost stalled, or felt like it was going too. The next day when I cranked her up the engine started jumping around like a plug wire was off, chugging and gasping. I opened my door to check the engine and had a strong smell of gas. I looked under, no drips, checked all the hoses, no leaks, no cracks.

Hit me, what could it be? I want to have an idea on what it could be, can I fix myself or if I have to bring her in, I want to know what I think it's going to cost me.

She's starting to have something go wrong every 3 months now...ugh :shifty

Huge vacuum leak, probably. Some hose has probably finally cracked open with old age, or the car managed to sneeze off some hose somewhere.

Fuel pressure regulator. Pull the vacuum hose off and see if any fuel drips out. Check fuel pressure to see if it's sky high.

I checked every hose I could reach and they all look ok, except the one of the image attached, could this be the culprit?

Cut it off after the hole and stick it back in. Check the other ends that are supposed to be attached to the under side of the intake manifold.

Post some more pics of the top of the engine. Maybe you have other hoses with holes in them?

Cut it off after the hole and stick it back in. Check the other ends that are supposed to be attached to the under side of the intake manifold. - that's what I just did, duh, haha... but, it didn't seem to help that much, but I think when I pulled on it a little it frayed or cracked where it connects to the plug wires..ugh.

I didn't see where the other end is, it trails down under the intake manifold and I can't see where it connects too. Do I have to remove everything off the top of the engine to change one little hose?

Also, I smell gas pretty strong on the drivers side, but not on passengers side and when I stuck my mug up close to the hose area with the engine running I didn't smell gas.

Maybe it's where it connects on the other end, under the intake? What is that hose for, it's obviously fuel related. The mechanic said that it was bad when he replaced the small fuel hose behind the engine engine at the firewall.

How do I find the other end of that hose?
