What can you do if the service department at your dealer just can't figure out how to fix your car? Whats the next step? A different dealer? Its under warranty so I do not want to take it to a independent and pay.

Thanks, tried that they sent out some "engineer" that had no real clue either.

Would this been for your 2011 335d? If so, you might want to check the E90 sub-forum. You might get some clues as to what is going on. I would suggest trying another dealer too.

I wish you the best of luck, this is a tough spot to be in, I know first hand.
I had a Volvo that two dealers and three independents could not solve problems on. The only answer was to dump it.
My last BMW a 2009 550 was becoming no end of problems starting with a failed transmission at 22K miles. I dumped it after being treated poorly by a dealer and an independent.
Sometimes you simply have to move on, I know that might be tough which is why I said this is a tough spot.
Manufacturing isn't a precise science. Sometimes it takes a certain combination of things (parts, procedure, people) and the whole thing starts to unravel with no method of remediation available.
If you are really into the car, take it to an indy...couldn't hurt I'm guessing.
Otherwise, you can try the arduous "Lemon Law" process through you're dealer....Maybe they'll offer to get you out and into something else if you start throwing the "L" word around.

This is why the lemon law exists
