I replaced the tail light assembly hoping this would solve the tail light issue. But it didn't. I need some insight on troubleshooting this problem and some DIY tips. I am a single mom trying to repair my daughter's car myself inexpensively.

-Did you double check the bulb is good by trying it in the working tail light?

-All of the wiring and receptors look to be in good shape? No corrosion?

Inner tail light perhaps? The wiring harness to the trunk lid* is notoriously prone to frayed/ broken wires.
What does "single mom" have to do with anything?
*Under a plastic cover on the left side hinge arm, it typically is broken at a point between where it exits that cover and enters the rear body area behind the seat. It won't be apparent unless you unwrap the harness and inspect each wire. It's well documented in other threads. Searching " trunk harness " ought to get you pictures and more info.
