Got the StrongStrut on the recommendation of a friend and here it is installed:

and a closeup of one of the tower rings:

I asked Paul @ StrongStrut to send me the special cap nuts aswell as they look a lot better than the standard BMW ones. He also supplies those black plastic strut tower inserts (which actually are a standard BMW part off the Z8!)

It was a piece of cake to install. Literally took less than 5 minutes. I'm pretty impressed with how it has tightened up the front end of my car, it almost feels like a coupe now instead of a cabrio

Very worthwhile upgrade :) . Paul at Strong-Strut (http://www.strong-strut.com/) was an excellent guy to deal with aswell, really recommended.

The BWW Motorsport brace costs more than twice as much as the StrongStrut and IMO has nothing going for it except that it was made by BMW. I was going to for the the Motorsport brace but it's simply not worth the extra money just to have the ///M logo. I think the StrongStrut actually looks better too. btw, what's a "Sturt Brace"? (check your sig) ;)

Sweet strut brace, I have the same one. Couldn't be happier with the performance, fitment and eye candy factor.

I also agree. Nice bar!!

Same here, but mine is in black. Made a world of difference on the cab!!

For some reason, I don't like the look of the holes on the bar, but I'm not one to complain when function is put above form. Did you consider the JTD bar? If so, what turned you away from it?

I didn't consider the JTD bar. TBH, I really was only considering the Motorsport bar until a friend who has a Z3 M Roadster recommended the StrongStrut (he has one) and at the price, I really couldn't complain. It had everything I wanted:

- lightweight
- minimal kinks in the bar itself (more rigid)
- not hinged
- simplicity itself to fit
- looks pretty good
