I hope this doesnt turn into a car sales deal. 90 minutes for driving 3 cars.

I'm hoping that they'll let us do the following in each of the three cars.

Acceleration/braking test.
Skid pad.
Slalom.

Afterall, that's what they usually do in terms of performance testing right?

I'm sure there will be a lot of marketing too. Afterall, it's free.

u can always walk out :D

i just hope they have a mini-autoX set up so that we can flog the cars thru' it :D do y'all know which car company is organizing this? coz the website says C&D and R&T, no mention of which car company is doing this.

Post up how they go....I'm signed up for 4:30 Sunday (no changing now that all time slots are full) and I'll pass if it suck.

Saw a guy spin the CL55 at a Benz event - he was done for the day....

ive been to three benz events as well as a couple bmw events. There is a BIG difference between the two!

at the bmw one they tell you to drive harder and push the car as hard as you can and not to worry about knocking cones over etc etc.

at the benz events they pretty much tell u to floor it in the straight and go slow in the turns and if you knock down a cone or spin out youre done for the day....bad marketing if your a performance minded person

It was aight.

I went at 12 on sunday...

Some washed out race car driver woman with menopause told me to slow down in the legacy even though i hadn't hit any cones nor did I lose control. The rest of the instructors were cool.

-Volvo sucks a nut all around. People say the seats are "comfortable", but have worse lateral support than my couch.
-325i is slow, especially with four people in the car. Best Steering response and was fun to drive.
-Subaru auto transmission sucked. Coming out of a corner with the shitbox was scary when boost hit. Overall, equally fun to drive as the bimmer, especially with so much more power.

Kudos to Subaru for an overall package for the price. The manual 2.5gt is probably a lot of fun to drive.

i have been on vacation, this was a fun event, a bit small and short though. I had more fun at "A Taste of Lexus". the legacy was really really nice.I dont even know why the volvo was there. the BMW performed the best. An A4 would have spiced things up nicely

I thought it kind of sucked. I figured they were going to take the results from thousands of readers and post them in the mags. They didnt even ask for our review after driving, just a bunch of questions about the scooby.

I put this right up there with deceptive advertising. It was nothing more than a Scooby ad.

I loved the question at the end of the survey. Would you buy the Scooby, NO!, Why not. becuase it is a POS.

At the end of the day its a Scooby not a Volvo and not a BMW. I can make a 1970 Gremlin handle and out perform a 325i, does that make it a better car?

lol, thats funny because I put down, I would only buy if this was a 15k car i could use daily while my BMW is in the garage waiting for the weekends

It was definitely disappointing to find out that it was a Subaru marketing event afterall.

I was actually impressed with the Subaru Legacy GT. The interior was nice and the handling/power was also good.

But at the end of the day, I would still buy a BMW for a similar amount of money. They were all in the $30K range.

Anyone could have guessed it. Did you not notice that the Legacy was the only all-new car in the lineup?

I don't see why you're bashing the legacy. Given, I wouldn't buy one, but it has quite a package for the dollar.

I thought ther legacy was nice, but I dont think it was an apples to apples comparison.

yes if that car had a differ name tag. its just when you spend 30k plus, you want something a little "more". lets see bmw or sub? hmm.... like the Kia sorento, i think its a really nice wanna be suv, but 25k? right.
