Hood "Mat"?

no idea what its called but have any of you taken out that mat attached to the bottom of your hood? It supposed to muffle the noise of the engine but i'd rather hear it personally :D . Anyone done this or hear anything about it?

I actually did it a month ago or so.
I really did not notice a sound difference.
But my air intake is fucking really loud.
So maybe it would make a difference if your engine is stock.

ANyway it just looked cooler with the shield off.

Just to warn you make sure the tubing to your windshield fluid shooters are not hanging to low because they may melt from the heat of the engine

Alot of people remove them just to lose wieght but some CAI do not seal well without it. I went out of the way to purchase one so that my car would be quieter and to help shield my new paint from the heat of the engine compartment. But basically it is there just to deaden the sound.
