So we all know the M4 GTS gets more horsepower... do we know how exactly? Upgraded engine bits or did some programmer just change some 0s to 1s?
I would think it's more to do with the DME tuning that BMW must have done here and extracted more power on top of the methanol injection.

I wonder if they run a totally different DME for the GTS cars or if it is the same as the non-GTS with just software upgrades?
That's what I would think it is.

Same DME, just some upgraded tune.

So that means ... the rest of us can benefit from the upgraded horsepower with an upgrade DME tuning. From there we could either install the water/meth injection system for full HP gains or find a way to eliminate the low fluid error from not having the system. There must be a way to flash override our standard firmware with the new GTS software (or maybe even software from the competition package even if it is less aggressive).

DME most likely. Will be interesting to see what tuners have for us.

You can easily achieve that with an aftermarket ECU tune.

Was trying to avoid the aftermarket ECU tune... opening the ECU to solder or running a piggyback did not seem like appealing ideas to me.
