So it just started tonight.. real soft, whine/whistle.. get's louder and higher pitched with the rpm and happens in both neutral and gear.. any ideas? Mods to speak of: ERT Crank Pulley, ECIS intake.. I just hope it isn't anything serious since I don't have time to take it to the shop these days..

When does it start making the noise? All the time? once the engine is warm? how old are the belts? I just replaced my belts/pulleys on saturday, but they made a pretty constant squeal once they warmed up.

Pull your belt off and start it. Don't run it to long as your waterpump will not be turning and this will tell you if it is an accessory or not.
