Now... who's the one told me that 255/40/17s will run just fine????
:(

Hahahaha... kidding... it does rub but only if I go fast diagonally up the curb... as for regular driving there's no problem at all...

The only thing is that since the rear tires are a bit taller than stock size.... I have a bit of negative front caster...

What tire are you running? Stock wheels? 2 door or 4 door?

Thanks.

Did you roll the fenders? I think if you run 255's you definatey have to roll the fenders.

Even after you role the fenders, there is still a light rub in inside tire well -the black molding rear bumper (that area but in the inside of the wheel well)

I had to use a dremel to shave down a bit. It only rubs here under full load like going over a dip in a road

I didn't roll the fenders.
But the mechanic told me that it looks like the fender has been rolled. I'll find another stock M3 to double check.

My will only rub when I am going over dips, I have to go quite slow to prevent rubbing.

I think all BMWs have stock rolled fenders.
I did have to shave the inside of my bumper just because i was running 19's.
So if you can roll the fenders and i dont think you'll have much more of a problem.

My wife drives a '98 M3 which we bought as a CPO car from a the BMW dealer in Fort Myers, FL.

The car had Toyo Proxes on it: 235-45-17's on the front, and 255-40-17's on the rear. I'm not sure what the original owner was smoking when he went to this set-up, but both front and rears rub when I have 3 or more people in the car (and it ain't pretty). Unless I go to a plus-one, I'm going to have to down-size to stock, or to 235-40-17's which I know will fit.

When I asked the dealer about springing for some appropriately sized rubber, he said that he didn't make enough profit in the transaction to ante up (I'm pursuing recourse through BMW USA).
