I've opened up a Bosch ME7.2 spare that i bought for my 2003 BMW E53 and I'm trying to find the eeprom chip. I thought that this model DME had a 29F400BB chip but there is nothing that looks like that on this board. Can anyone confirm that this is a ME7.2 board? It doesn't look like other pictures I've seen of that DME.

Is there anything on the other side?

I've seen pictures of other ME7.xx series boards, and the 44pin eeprom chip is on top. The pcb appears to be glued to the base and I'm reluctant to try to remove it, without knowing for sure that the eeprom is located there.

29f400bb is on the back side. Carefully pry the board with a wide flathead to remove the back cover.

There is 29F400. Why are you trying to find it physically? Why do you need it? Isn't it easier to read and write in boot mode?
