The Telegraph reports that it may be possible that the presenters for the new Top Gear show will be these three entertainers namely - Chris Harris, Sabine Schmitz, and Chris Evans. They also mention of ex-F1 driver David Coulthard to be in the show too.

Discuss.

Anybody not named Clarkson, Hammond, and May is automatically blasphemy. No hosts will ever have that same magical chemistry that those three had on Top Gear.

If this turns out to be true then it will be interesting to see how many will chime in to watch this new show, how many will actually attend the show, and how this pans out overtime?

I'll watch it once to see how it goes, doubt it could ever be as good as was with Clarkson, Hammond, and May.

The masses will decide, but Clarkson is Top Gear. Anything else will not compare.

Well, looks like Amazon Prime got Clarkson, May, and Hammond for a gear head show they've got in the works, as for TopGear, Evans has one hell of a car collection, Harris can drive the hell out of a car, his videos on Youtube are kinda cool, the girl, Sabine, one hell of a driver on the Nurburgring, I don't know, the show might turn out pretty good. Winwin....

Never heard of Evans, but I think the other two are good choices. I think the old format was getting stale anyway. Too many stupid stunts, not enough about real cars. I'm willing to give it a shot. I also plan to watch whatever the old trio are cooking up.

I'll agree that the old show was definitely getting stale latelt and not so interesting or entertaining anymore. They were trying too hard to be funny or too silly, every episode looked familiar as every other episode, and you could tell or predict what's going to happen next. Only thing that would get me hooked up was when one of them would do a proper review of one car. Take it out to a track, talk about it, give us a sense of its performance and what it's like to drive it in the city or anywhere, and to be in awe and amazed by its technology. I think that part was the most informative and actually educational too, if you like, and it was something worth to watch. Rest of the stuff, to me, felt like crap. Honestly, the three of them and the whole standard of the show was just going down.

I hope that this won't be the case on Amazon prime.

Shoot, I think them being goofy stupid was great. How many other automotive shows out there make you laugh?

I kinda liked that it was goofy, because I don't want to be beat over the head with specs and serious reviews all the time, there are better places for that anyways. Top Gear was always more about entertainment than actual information, at least in my opinion.

I love Chris Harris! He's a big E28 M5 fan. His channel on youtube is fantastic: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC8AMAhCRmep7VJKe1sxvHFg

Sabine is fantastic too. Chris Evans is a big car nut and he's been on Top Gear a few times.

I look forward to it. I hope it doesn't tank as then we'd lose top gear AND the chris harris channel.

Looking forward to their Amazon endeavour - I assume it will stay roughly the same. Imagine they kept it to the car stuff and the big adventures - no celebrity bullcrap. That'd be awesome!

I'll be honest I haven't watched Top Gear for quite a long time now. I think the last season I followed was probably 15 or 16. For me the best season was season 10.

Have seen that video. I really like Tiff Needell. And Chris Harris too. I know that Chris Evans is a car nut and was on Top Gear as a guest. I also know that Sabine was in the German Top Gear show with another great German driver whose name I can't remember now. Will see how this new show both from BBC and the Amazon turn out.

Chris Evans is a bonafide car nut, and a wealthy one, too. If you ever saw the TG where May got to drive a near priceless 60's Ferrari California, that car belonged to Chris Evans. Whether or not this bunch will be able to create the community of the old TG remains to be seen.

My choice to replace the TG crew would have been Rowan Atkinson and Stephen Fry. The show wouldn't have been the same, but it would definitely have been entertaining.

John Cleese (the new Jezza)
Rowan Atkinson (the new Hamster)
Stephen Fry (captain slow)

:D

The show would sound very posh with this crew ^ ....

I love how it said chris was practically unknown. Lol. Funny joke. If you're a car guy it's hard to not come across at least one of the videos by various production groups he's worked with. However, it'll never be the same and we all know that. Look at top gear's youtube channel. They try to post videos of this stig and such (excluding reruns of clips from old episodes) but said videos are only met with massive amounts of dislikes. Example:

I'll give the show a shot. I don't think it will rival the Clarkson, Hammond, and May days but maybe it won't be too bad. I have to agree that the show was getting a little stale. It was a massively fun show for awhile tho. I'll miss it.
