Problem: Sticky Speedo when it's kinda cold

I just noticed this on my 95 M3. When it's colder (below 60F or so) the speedo seems to be pretty sticky, sometimes not moving, or jumping to 20...then all of a sudden to 60. On afternoon drives home from work it's fine.

The odometer seems to move normally and the MPG needle seems right on.

Any idea as to what is wrong? Something needs to get lubed?

I had the same problem about 12 months ago. There is some kind of speed sensor that needs to be replaced. I got my mechanic to do it for me and I can't recall how much it cost. Sorry I can't be more help, but I have done so much to this car it all just kind of blurs together.

Thanks for the reply man. I assume you mean the sensor on teh back of the rear differential?
