I have one from a e36 (non-m) but the mileage is about 225k. Let me know if you're interested. Everything works, and I just changed out some of the bulbs too.

This may sound dumb but is the mileage dependant on the cluster or is it based off something else? Meaning, if I were to get a cluster w/ 300k miles on it would it display 300k or would it display my actual mileage? :help

It will display the mileage of 300k

there are two mileage's in your car, there is one in the car's computer and one in the cluster. When bmw dealer installs an odometer they will read the one in the computer and input that into the odometer. They also charge an arm and a leg for this.

You can get a secondary company to enter the mileage you want into your odometer, but you have to sign a statment of fact which holds you liable in court if it is found there has been odometer tampering in the future.

You can put a 300k odometer in your car, and the mileage on your odometer will be 300k, but the mileage recorded in your DME is the 100k you really have on your car. The only thing that makes this noticeable is a red led that turns on on your odometer cluster.
