Hello!

Last weekend, i had the oil changed, coolant changed and system flushed. Was told to bring it back in 3-5 days to check for air pockets. Brought it back after 4 days, was told everything was fine. Two days later, the low coolant light comes on the dash and the heater starts blowing cold air. Take it back in, they check it, top off the fluid, heater started to blow hot air.

Noticed the next day that the heater only blows hot air on the "feet" option. The following day, the low coolant light comes on again (this would be yesterday). Heater is still blowing hot on the "feet" option. Have not noticed any coolant on the ground after moving the car.

Any suggestions? Does the system need flushed again? Is there an air pocket?

Thanks in advance!!

Two thoughts.

First, it sounds like it hasn't been bled properly. Follow one of the DIY tutorials here and do it yourself - it's easy.

Second, make sure your temperature dial in the center of the center front dash vents is set to warm and not cold. That might explain why you only get warm air to your feet.

It's also possible you have a slow coolant leak. You might check the expansion tank for any coolant residue - it'll look white - and if there is, you've probably found the leak. If it continues to lose coolant, take it to an independent shop that works on BMWs and ask them what's going on (you don't say where you had the work done; if at the BMW dealership they should be able to tell you what's going on).
