Hi All.. I have 2006 E91 Diesel M-Sport Touring - Right hand drive, manual 6 speed transmission. Non comfort access remote key fob (just the one, the spare is broken)
Problem: Key fob central locking inoperative (Central locking works inside the car using the dash button) - Door can be locked and unlocked manually but after I unlock the door the alarm goes off so I have to put the fob into the slot in the dash to stop the alarm.
Action taken so far: Checked fuses, all ok. Replaced rechargeable battery in key fob (broke open the sealed fob and soldered in a new battery) after doing this I bought a RF tester and checked it was actually transmitting, which it it.. Tester shows a green light when key fob buttons are pressed so I assume I can rule out a faulty fob.
Ive Just replaced the expensive diversity antenna today confident it must be that... nope! its located under rear roof spoiler and checked the known weak spot for broken wiring around tail gate hinge area. All looks fine.
I did notice some water in the drivers side footwell 6 weeks ago after a particularly heavy downpour and I'm aware of more modules around that area but unsure if they're linked to the central locking.
Running out of ideas. Over to you guys, hope you can help! :)
