I bought one from a source in Europe and installed it in our '84 633's heater control valve two years ago . . . and now has failed big-time (4mm x 10mm hole in diaphragm). Does anyone know of another source for diaphragms which will last longer?

Might try a NAPA auto parts store. My 84 BMW used the same one for my 88 Mercedes 300SE! Mono valve repair kit.

Find the part on real and there are plenty of online distributors. Just search the bmw part number in google...

Plenty of sources for them and they are cheap. Cheap in price and cheap in quality. It seems like everybody has the same MTC kits.

Thanks, guys. I was hoping to find just a good quality diaphragm, not the whole metal valve insert. I bought just a diaphragm last time, but it was obviously not of good quality.

I'm on my second repair and plenty pissed off about it.
I am reverse engineering with a 3/4", NO valve. I'll post what I come up with.

Jose,
Were your last two valves BMWGen or off-brand? I ask because I've now resigned myself to buying a BMWGen piece.
No valve, huh? Isn't that going to let your interior get pretty toasty in CA . . ?
