I needed to remove my driver-side door panel for the first time in a long time. I remember from before that getting the mirror switch out was a pain. This time, as I was trying to carefully pry the switch out, the adjusting knob fell off, and I could see two holes. These seemed ideal for pulling the switch out, and maybe were put there for this purpose in the first place. I made a little tool out of some scrap metal, inserted it in the holes, and the switch came out easily.

? It just pries out. Am I missing something? Which car?

I use a screwdriver (with some tape on it). I now have a cool set of interior fitting levers that work for all kinds of thing, like door panel clips, etc.

Well, maybe the switch pries out easily for some, but not for me on my '86.

If a little screwdriver works without marring the door handle, cool. If not, some bent metal works well.
